Death Concerns at New QE

It comes as no surprise to me that someone, more than likely based in London, once again wants to have a go at Birmingham and this time slagging off OUR new QE hospital.

In a report exclusively published in today’s Observer “Dr Fosters Hospital Guide 2010” says they examine data freely avaiable from the hospital, but they take no account of any primary or community care, no data that shows what happens to patients over the whole course of their illness. Hence we don’t get a full picture, only a statisticians analysis and headline grabbing news items.
Whilst I will be the first in a queue to have a go at ANY failing public service in Birmingham, headline grabbing and headlines about one of the most worrying aspects of life, one’s own health or that of a family member is a dis-service to everyone involved with our hospitals.
The new QE is one of the top teaching and research hospitals in the country and earlier this year got an  excellent for its financial management and good for the quality of its clinical and non-clinical services in the Government's Healthcare Commission's Annual Health Check.
As I said headline grabbing for some petty researcher and their report.
