How can Birmingham Council account for this. It beggars belief.
Mr Peden, a disabled tenant, lived in a first floor flat and was desperate to be moved out so much so that after visits from Occupational Therapists, arrangements were made to offer him a more suitable property. However in the mean time Mr Peden's flat catches fire, he suffers significant burns he died from his injuries two days later at Selly Oak Hospital
Two weeks after the tragedy, Birmingham Council send a bill to the flat for the replacement of the front door, smashed open by fire fighters to gain access to extract Mr Peden from the flat.
