Choose Well Winter Campaign
Just had an email come in and thought is was important enough to be published on here.
As winter sets in, the NHS across Birmingham and Solihull are working together to ensure that clear messages are delivered to the Public, urging people to make the right choice when it comes to looking after their health. NHS South Birmingham commissions services for a population of 383,000 people. Currently our Primary Care Services include 65 GP practices, 170 General Dental Practitioners, 71 community Pharmacists, and 80 Opticians premises. Our £660 million budget for 2009/10 has been spent on securing health services for the local population.
Choose Well messages are focused on helping the public to recognise the many different options which are available to them including their local doctor, pharmacists, urgent care centre and also not to forgot NHS Direct for general help and advice who can be reached on 0845 4647.
The local campaign incorporates posters, press, radio, advertising and PR activity which is already underway across the Birmingham and Solihull cluster. The communications teams are keeping in close liaison with services, sharing information and ensuring materials are available.
We need your help in promoting this message amongst colleagues, please pass on the Choose Well campaign.
NHS South Birmingham contracts services from local hospitals. This includes University Hospital Birmingham, Birmingham Women’s Hospital, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. NHS South Birmingham also contracts a range of services from community nursing, children’s services, learning disability services and community hospitals. We also provide services through South Birmingham Community Health.
